Summary

The #1 New York Times best-selling sequel to The Isle of the Lost
Mal's an expert at intimidating her enemies, but she's broken the habit since leaving her villainous roots behind。 So when she and her friends Evie, Carlos, and Jay all receive threatening messages demanding they return home, Mal can't believe it。 Sure, she's King Ben's girlfriend now, and she's usually nice to her classmates, but she still didn't think anyone would be silly enough to try to push her around。

The thing is, it kind of worked。 Especially since she and her friends have a sneaking suspicion that their villainous parents are behind the messages。 And when Evie looks into her Magic Mirror, what she sees only confirms their fears。 Maleficent's just a tiny lizard after her run-in with Mal at Ben's Coronation, but she's the worst villain in the land for a reason。 Could she have found a way to escape? Whatever's going on, Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay know they have to sneak back to the Isle and get to the bottom of it。

Without its infamous leader, the island's even worse than when they left it, but the comforts of home-even a home as gloomy as the Isle of the Lost-can be hard to resist for recently reformed villains。 Will the kids be able to beat the evil bubbling at the Isle's wicked core, or will the plot to destroy Auradon succeed?
Praise for The Isle of the Lost"Disney lovers and fairy-tale fans alike will need to get their hands on this book。" -School Library Journal

Praise for Return to the Isle of the Lost"Packed with plenty of humor and adventure, this sequel spinoff is destined to please。 With a second movie in the works and a bevy of loyal readers, it certainly won't stay on shelves for long。" -Booklist

Decent。 It was a fun read, but nothing spectacular。 Carlos is still my favorite in the books。 Jay I feel barely gets any credit in the series and finally got a bit of a feel for here。 There are things relating to their parents and what happens toward the end that didn't make much logical sense to me。 I really want to see them confront their parents (Mal and Malificent excluded obviously)。 Oh and huge question about Mal and potential siblings due to later movie connection! Either info must be given in a later book or movie to explain this or it is a huge disconnect that has me annoyed。。。I still don't get Ben being a king while a teenager。 How about working WITH his parents on these issues? Although he pulls through in the end。 I want more about Yen Sid! 。。。more

Fun story! Love how it's interconnected with the Disney Channel movies! The creativity in giving the children of the different Disney Villians such personality made the read that much more enjoyable! Felt a bit nostalgic and decided to read this book after reading book one。 The series so far has spun the villains we know and love, children into a new light。 The story of the villains usual ends when they are captured but this series makes you think twice about it。

i love the book

These will make more sense if you read the 1st and the 2nd one back to back otherwise you will probably get lost in what happening in the series

Not gonna lie, I was happier with this than I was with the descendants movies。 Although it felt a bit rushed, it will be fun to see how Cruz develops the world through her novels。

Again, this is a book I read 5 years ago and now I re read it with my brother for his school assignment。 Idk if it counts, but oh well, feels good to fall into the old universe that made me feel so entertained!!

What would you do if you left your villainous ways behind until one day you and your friends got threatening letters to return to your original home。 In “Return to the Isle of the Lost” based off the Movie series “Descendants”。 Mal, Jay, Carlos and Evie reformed villain kids living their new lives in Auradon one day they get letters to return to their home the Isle of the Lost a place where all the villains are locked away so no evil spreads。 This books does a good job building the characters, h What would you do if you left your villainous ways behind until one day you and your friends got threatening letters to return to your original home。 In “Return to the Isle of the Lost” based off the Movie series “Descendants”。 Mal, Jay, Carlos and Evie reformed villain kids living their new lives in Auradon one day they get letters to return to their home the Isle of the Lost a place where all the villains are locked away so no evil spreads。 This books does a good job building the characters, having enjoyable interactions。 The author has done a good job of the lace and keep the story interesting and mysterious。 Melissa De La Cruz does a good job on the descendants books it goes well with the movie series。 。。。more

Actual score: 2。5This one starts off after the first movie, it does give you a quick recap at the start but I feel like you're missing out on details if you haven't seen it。I liked this one a little less than the first book。 The grand quest of this book started to get a bit repetitive。 I did like that other kingdoms got involved and the story took place at different locations。 Still, it is enjoyable enough to move onto the next one。 Actual score: 2。5This one starts off after the first movie, it does give you a quick recap at the start but I feel like you're missing out on details if you haven't seen it。I liked this one a little less than the first book。 The grand quest of this book started to get a bit repetitive。 I did like that other kingdoms got involved and the story took place at different locations。 Still, it is enjoyable enough to move onto the next one。 。。。more

*3。5I mean I knew exactly what I was getting into while reading this。 It really wasn’t any different from the first book or the movies。 I still very much enjoyed it for what it was。 I think I might have preferred the first book to this one though。 Also the more I read these books the more I realize how perfect the casting was for the movies。 I still really wish these books had come my way back when I was younger, I feel like they would have been more appreciated if they had。

Anti heroes are the heroes you root for in the story。 Wow。 Amazing。 This book, like the previous one is really good。 Plot and Story The plot was perfect。 I don't know what else to say about that。 The story and suspense of this book was really good。 There were a lot of plot-twists too, increasing the interestingness of the book。 The characters were awesome, along with the opening and writing。 The book also teaches us that being perfect is not necessary。 You do not have to be perfect。 Be just Anti heroes are the heroes you root for in the story。 Wow。 Amazing。 This book, like the previous one is really good。 Plot and Story The plot was perfect。 I don't know what else to say about that。 The story and suspense of this book was really good。 There were a lot of plot-twists too, increasing the interestingness of the book。 The characters were awesome, along with the opening and writing。 The book also teaches us that being perfect is not necessary。 You do not have to be perfect。 Be just the way you are。 Nobody is perfect。 You are a hero in your own story。 I enjoyed a lot reading this。 P。S - Really? An easy read and a continuation of the first Descendants movie。 I might like this one better because there was more mystery to it, but there were still unanswered questions。 Also, so many mentions of the 3 villain parents but really not much conclusion? This book was great 👍 I recommend it。 The last one was good but I preferred this one it made a little bit more sense and I liked there wasn’t to much of the chapters about Ben doing king stuff (I found that farley boring)

I loved the Land of Stories and this is along the same lines of it, although the writing and plots of Land of Stories were more on a Harry Potter level, while this one felt like it was directed more so at little kids。

This book is so good!!!! Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos are such anti-heroes! Can you even believe that they did that all in like, 2 hours! (Probably more!) What was cool is that they each had to face an obstacle before they could receive there talismans! The only thing I would change is that when Mal goes though her obstacle, it was not as exciting and a cliff hanger as the others! I mean that is what I thought! My favorite book in the series!-Lily M。

A great sequel to the series, with similar take from the first movie but with even more detail! The characters were good, the plot was great and the magic was even better!

Książka jest świetna。 Bardzo podobał mi się pomysł na fabułę。 Niestety zdenerwowałam się, kiedy okazało się, że film jest totalnie inny。

I love that it helps broaden the characters from the movie。 It doesn’t loose pace and keeps you entertained。 I can’t wait to continue the series!

I read this when the Descendant movies first went out。 RIP Cameron。 I was like 11 and I actually enjoyed it but I don't think I'll re-read it anytime soon, it a pretty middle-school read。 I read this when the Descendant movies first went out。 RIP Cameron。 I was like 11 and I actually enjoyed it but I don't think I'll re-read it anytime soon, it a pretty middle-school read。 。。。more

2/5 stars。 I was super confused when i startes reading it and only found out that it takes place after the first movie by reading the reviews on goodreads which was super confusing。 The plotline was boring and not much happened
